Helping Your Practice and Helping Your Patient While Limiting Risks
Course Description
Attendees with be able to identifying conditions that from a medicolegal
standpoint either respond routinely to conservative care or due to the severity
of recovery and potential risk of complications that conservative management
should be pursued.
PICA is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as a provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine. PICA has approved this activity for a maximum of 1.0 continuing education contact hours.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the program, participants will be able to:
- Recognize at least 3 reasonable conservative treatment options for the conditions discussed.
- Able to identify a reasonable endpoint for conservative care for the conditions discussed.
- Identify exceptions and documentation recommendations for patients where further conservative care is not to be attempted.

Faculty
Michael McGlamry, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. McGlamry is in private practice in Georgia. He teaches at the residency
program at DeKalb Medical Center and is a faculty member of The Podiatry
Institute. He is an accomplished national lecturer and authority on the
techniques of surgical reconstruction and has written extensively for medical
journals and surgical textbooks.
