Alan S. Banks, DPM

Alan S. Banks, DPM

Dr. Banks is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and a senior faculty member of the Podiatry Institute. Dr. Banks served as the chief editor for the third edition of McGlamry's Comprehensive Textbook of Foot and Ankle Surgery and associate editor of the second edition of the same textbook. He is a member of the manuscript review panel for both the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and has authored or coauthored over 30 articles in the medical literature or chapters in medical textbooks. Dr. Banks previously served as the director of residency training at DeKalb Medical Center, in Decatur, GA, for 21 years. He practices in Tucker, GA, and is a partner of Village Podiatry Group.

Michael Brody

Michael L. Brody, DPM

Dr. Michael Brody is in private practice in New York and teaches at the residency program at the VA Hospital in Northport, NY. Dr. Brody works with CCHIT, The International Standards Organization, The New York E-Health Collaborative and other local, national and international organizations in the field of health information technology. He writes for APMA News and Podiatry Management magazine and has lectured extensively on the topic of Health Information Technology.

Warren Joseph

Warren S. Joseph, DPM, FIDSA

Dr. Joseph is a podiatric and infectious diseases attending at Roxborough Memorial Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He is also a nationally recognized specialist in the treatment of lower extremity infectious diseases.

Dr. Joseph completed his postgraduate training in podiatric medicine/surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital, and a fellowship in infectious diseases at Hahnemann University School of Medicine, both in Philadelphia. Dr. Joseph is a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and sits on the IDSA Diabetic Foot Infection Guidelines Committee.

He is also certified by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine, and currently serves as Editor of the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Joseph lectures extensively and his presentations have focused on the treatment of bacterial and fungal infections of the lower extremity. He has authored a number of papers and book chapters in the field of lower extremity infections and is the author of the Handbook of Lower Extremity Infections, now in its third edition.

Paul Kesselman, DPM

Dr. Kesselman is well known for his extensive writing and lectures on the use of Durable Medical Equipment (DME). His monthly column appearing in Podiatry Management is primarily dedicated to coding and compliance issues. He is an expert panelist to Codingline.Com and has been a contributing author to Practical Endocrinology and other medical publications. Dr. Kesselman is a consultant to many medical manufacturers and is a member of many Medicare carrier advisory committees. Dr. Kesselman served on the APMA Coding Committee for several years and is currently the coordinator of APMA’s DME Work Group and is a special expert on DME issues for the APMA Health Policy Committee.

Larry Waranch is an AV-rated trial lawyer and a founding partner of Waranch & Brown, LLC. In this capacity, he represents podiatric physicians in medical malpractice and licensure matters throughout the United States. He also serves as national advisor to PICA in complex cases around the country, and in insurance coverage disputes and cases involving excess exposure. Mr. Waranch has been identified as one of Maryland’s medical malpractice “Super Lawyers” by Maryland Super Lawyers Magazine and is an elected member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
