Understanding MIPS

Course Description
MACRA and MIPS is the Medicare payment program the replaced SGR. No matter what happens to the ACA we will still have MACRA and MIPS. You need to understand how this program works for the financial health of your practice. The MIPS program is centered on quality care and quality reporting. Learn how to document the quality care you provide and then report your activities to get proper credit from CMS.

PICA is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as a provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine. PICA has approved this activity for a maximum of 1.0 continuing education contact hours.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand how MIPS relates to quality reporting and quality of care.
  2. Understand how Practice Improvement Activities are a part of MIPS.
  3. Understand how proper use of EHR is a part of MIPS and can be used to improve quality of care.

Michael Brody, DPM

Dr. Brody is in private practice in New York and teaches at the residency program at the VA Hospital in Northport, NY. Dr. Brody has been involved in Health Information Technology extensively. He is a nationally recognized expert within the healthcare industry on Health Information Technology. Dr. Brody speaks nationally and writes extensively on HIPAA and HITECH and the process of implementing Health Information Technology in physicians offices.
