Faculty

John Bowman

Mr. Bowman is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sure Med Compliance. His career in the pharmaceutical industry spans more than a decade, and provided the inspiration that led to the founding of Sure Med Compliance. Mr. Bowman was a sales and marketing leader for Novartis, helping launch a number of blockbuster drugs such as the Exelon patch (for treatment of Alzheimer’s disease), Tekturna (for treating high blood pressure) and Reclast (for the treatment of osteoporosis and other bone-related diseases). While working out of Manatee County, Florida, one of the epicenters of the opioid epidemic, John felt called by his faith to do something about the crisis. After consulting with physicians who explained that opioids were often the only effective treatment option for some patients, he conceived of a novel approach to controlling the epidemic. That vision has become Sure Med Compliance, a software and services company assisting physicians by providing prescribing guidance, screening and documentation compliance. Mr. Bowman, a Coast Guard veteran, is an avid surfer who founded the Eternal Summer Surf Camp, a free, faith-based ministry which, under his continuing leadership, has become the largest surf camp in the world. He now resides in Fairhope Alabama with his wife Kendall and kids Jackson and Piper and is a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. John earned his Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from the University of South Florida.
