The presentation will be a review of some of the most frequently audited billing codes - the what, why, and how.

PICA is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as a provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine. PICA has approved this activity for a maximum of 1.0 continuing education contact hours.

At the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  1. Learn what are the current “red flagged” billing codes.
  2. Understand why those codes are audited (or at least closely looked at).
  3. Consider how to deal with denials before and after audits.

Harry Goldsmith, DPM

Dr. Goldsmith is the CEO of Codingline, a foot and ankle coding, reimbursement and practice management Internet-based information company. Dr. Goldsmith is a consultant to the APMA's Health Policy & Practice Department, as well as director of Coding Resource Management, LLC, a coding, reimbursement, compliance consulting service for foot/ankle specialists and third party payers. He writes a monthly column for Podiatry Management magazine and lectures nationwide on coding and reimbursement topics.
